My pathway to God

I am reading the book written by John Ortberg, "The Life You've Always Wanted."

In one of his many interesting chapters, he wrote that each one of us, uniquely created by God, has a different way of meeting God.

I think there are those who feel closest to God in their music, while they dance, when inside a quiet room, hearing the raindrops fall on the road, atop a mountain, seeing the rainbow after a thunderstorm, or gazing at the face of a sleeping child.

  1. In some of my trips, local or otherwise, I have discovered that I feel most closest to God when I gaze at the beauty of His creation.
  1. For who, in his right mind, wouldn't be amazed as we witness the mystery of God's creation? How can one doubt that there is a Being up above who controls everything in His hands?

Look at the melange of colors in the sky. See how the light of the sun reflects on the water.

How can such a small animal possess the biggest eyes?

... Seems solid yet soft. Two adjectives that are contrary to each other yet they are found in a starfish...

Hundreds of little green hills... different shapes and heights yet they create a simple beauty that one's eyes can feast on.

My favorite... spend a quiet afternoon beside a beach, look above and think that you are talking to God.
Spending your time with God. Before His wonderful creation. A treat. Just perfect.

Great pictures, Jen. And great thoughts too! So when are we going away for nature-tripping? We should go for it sometime, well, at least, this year. By the way, have you read the book Windows of the Soul? I have a feeling you'd like it. :-) I have a copy if you want to temporarily swap it with me with your The Life you always wanted. :-)

Lion Chaser Manifesto

Quit living as if the purpose of life is to arrive safely at death. Set God-sized goals. Pursue God-ordained passions. Go after a dream that is destined to fail without divine intervention. Keep asking questions. Keep making mistakes. Keep seeking God. Stop pointing out problems and become part of the solution. Stop repeating the past and start creating the future. Stop playing it safe and start taking risks. Expand your horizons. Accumulate experiences. Enjoy the journey. Find every excuse you can to celebrate everything you can. Live like today is the first day and last day of your life. Don't let what's wrong with you keep you from worshiping what's right with God. Burn sinful bridges. Blaze new trails. Criticize by creating. Worry less about what people think and more about what God thinks. Don't try to be who you're not. Be yourself. Laugh at yourself. Quit holding out. Quit holding back. Quit running away.
